Description
From the cretti of a dry soil rich in minerals, Prince of a land of mirages and wonders, Amìra (from the Arab amîr – prince) represents the purest essence of Nero d’Avola from Butera. The mineral-rich parched and cracked terrain yields a gentle and refined red wine, stemming from a deep admiration for this great Sicilian grape varietal.
The nose leads with layered fruit aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and orange peel, but the sun soon sets and darker notes of slate, damp earth and bitter coffee emerge. On the palate, a serious astringency underscores the earthiness, but the fruit stays quietly present. Medium Body, Dry. Pair with Hard Cheese, or Barbeque.
