WINEMAKER NOTES:

Grapes for the HRW series wines come from our Napa vineyard, as they do for all the Hendry wines. The production is small—often just a few hundred cases per variety. HRW wines are produced from small lots which, though they may not have the complexity or intensity we require for our Hendry label, are nonetheless very nice for everyday drinking. They are just too good to part with, so we bottle them under this “companion” label. We feel confident that the quality of fruit and the care we put into the HRW wines makes them an excellent value, not only among Napa Valley appellation-designated wines, but among wines in this category. HRW is short for Hendry Ranch Wines.

TASTING NOTES:

Medium ruby. Mouthwatering berries, tea, cedar, spice, and pepper on the nose. Lighter-bodied, with a bright, spicy, fruit-driven palate. On the palate, flavors of strawberry, cranberry, baking chocolate and jam. Easy drinking, moderately structured. Ideal for pastas, burgers, barbecue, chili or a meaty Bolognese lasagna. Good everyday value. A fruity, light-bodied and dry–not sweet–Zinfandel.
