WINEMAKER NOTES:

Three stories, three structures brought together to form a single, stronger winery in the face of the crisis. In the 1900s, the cooperative movement was able to impose here, in the heart of Entre-Deux-Mers, its values of humanism and solidarity. In 1933 , a handful of winegrowers from Rauzan built a “common cellar” which was to become, 70 years later, the first winemaking unit in France for wines of Appellation d’origine contrôlée. In 1936 , the winegrowers of the surrounding communes of Romagne came together and created the Cooperative Cellar of Grangeneuve. And in 1937 the Nérigean cellar was founded.  “From this past, we keep the love of things well done and the need to move forward.” It is with this in mind that on February 1, 2008, the Union of Producers of Rauzan and the Cooperative Cellar of Grangeneuve joined forces. Then in 2016, the Cave de Nérigean joined Les Caves de Rauzan. This new entity now represents more than 3,500 hectares of vines in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, and brings together nearly 340 cooperative members. Each year, it produces around 200,000 hl of Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée wine: Bordeaux Supérieur, Bordeaux (white, rosé and red), Entre-Deux-Mers and Crémant de Bordeaux.

TASTING NOTES:  The color of this wine is a beautiful red vermeil. The nose expresses very fruity aromas of blackberry and plum with vanilla touches. In the mouth it is smooth, fruity wine with soft tannins.

VARIETALS: 60% Merlot   40% Cabernet Sauvignon

APPELLATION:  Bordeaux AOC, France
