Winemaker’s Notes
As a marker of the vintage, this release of the “Black Label” is a Red Wine made up of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon of Red Mountain and Horse Heaven Hills and 10% Syrah of Royal Slope. Primary aromas of violets, black cherry, and black plum yield to forest floor, and sandalwood. Bold structure and incredible density on the palate reinforce the purity of fruit and harmonious balance of the vineyard. Plush tannin and flavors of blackberry, mocha, and prune drift for minutes on the finish.

Vintage
As one of the warmest seasons on record, the 2021 vintage provided optimal growing conditions across Washington. All markers of the growing season were advanced by two to three weeks from historical averages. Some wineries were bringing in fruit mid- August; unheard of in most years. In September and October, the temperatures cooled, allowing for more ideal flavor and phenolic development. Towards the finish line, the weather created an ideal vintage for Cabernet Sauvignon and red varietals, producing wines that were powerful and rich, yet elegant and balanced
